A few previews from a trip to the Pacific country of the Solomon Islands are online now
MAY 8TH 2008
I'm currently supposed to be doing the finer details of the plans for a shoot to Solomon Islands, way out in the Pacific.
It's proving close to impossible since no guidebooks has updated info - since no network in Denmark can connect to the phone system out there...

Pacific yearly tourism numbers from the late nineties:
Hawai'i: 4.000.000
Tahiti: 400.000
Samoa: 40.000
Solomon islands: 4.000

Since then the Solomons have gone through 7 years of civil war and the LP guide book has been cancelled...
I was traveling from Fiji to Solomon in '95 but a cerebral malaria outbreak sent me to Samoa for close to ½ a year learning Polynesian and kicking back.
So this time I'm really looking forward to taking a closer look at the lost islands of the Pacific - The Solomon islands.
The trip will take place in late May through June 2008 and will concentrate on the Vonovono and Morovo Lagoons of New Georgia and will go to Auki - the Capital of Malaita.
ANY TIPS VERY WELCOME info@globalphotographic.net

The Backyard
Third autumn this year, Patagonia in April, Alaska in August and finally Denmark in November.
Autumn on the Northern Hemisphere was a bust with green trees all over in late November in
Copenhagen - but finally the leaves have succumbed and winter is near.
The weather has been weird though - summer was hot and dry in the Tempered Zones like Denmark while cold
and dreary in the Arctic, I had a few hours of sunshine in Greenland and Alaska and heard stories of
similar conditions in Norway and Canada. Both situations yielded little colors all around. But there's always something.
OCTOBER 31ST 2006
Back from Sahara on the Moroccan Algerian border I'll just post a quick preview
OCTOBER 6TH 2006
In Alaska June is spring, July is summer and autumn when I visited is autumn. A preview portfolio is now online.
JULY 5TH 2006
I've just returned from a trip to Ilulissat - Jacobshavn in Greenland.
It's placed at the mouth of the most productive glacier outside Antartica.
While the arctic sun circumnavigates the skies without setting huge icebergs calve loudly off the
glacier and float up and down the coast on their way to Newfoundland.
The place is extraordinarily beautiful - new photos from the trip on this page:
JUNE 27TH 2006
I'll be mostly offline for a while now travelling in Greenland.
New Photos from this trip can be expected by mid July.
MAY 29TH 2006
Although the weather is somewhat mixed, it's exceptionally beautiful outside right
now. This weekend I took a few shots and the results are spread across the
appropriate categories around this site

MAY 7TH 2006
Spring never really got started, so summer got impatient and took over.
The forests are rapidly turning bright green and a few new photos showing
this are now scattered around the pages after a weekend in southern Sweden.

I might upload a few extra in the coming period...
MAY 3RD 2006
In late June I'll be going away on a shoot to Greenland (Ilulissat / Jakobshavn) where the most productice
glacier outside Antarctica is found. I've been to Greenland on previous occations but always in the winter, so I'm looking
very much forward to the soft light of the arctic summer nights.
Photos will be available by mid July on this webpage.
APRIL 18TH 2006
Just returned from a rather long flight from Southern Patagonia. A Preview portfolio is online now.
APRIL 6TH 2006
I'll be offline for a while now, I'm off for Buenos Aires and Chile - Punta Arenas at the Magellan Strait.
Spring seems reluctant to arrive here so I'll be enjoying autumn peak colors on the Southern Hemisphere.
I'll be able to check mails regularly.

MARCH 17TH 2006
It seems that winter will never end in Denmark this year as this photo from Sunday shows

But the sun is getting higher on the horizon while the snow melts, spring is approaching
and it's the perfect time to plan new trips. So I'm planning a trip to Buenos Aires in Argentina
and will continue to the Torres del Paine mountains in the far south of Chile 107 degrees south of here.
I'll be exploring Patagonia for a week and the photos will be on this site fairly soon.

photo featured on "the radiant vista"
A photo from the South East Asia portfolio is today's feature of the
Daily Critique of the Radiant Vista where photographer Craig M. Tanner
post quick time reviews of selected photos. The review is favourable
and points out improvements upon which I agree and could do with the
cooperation of a few hundred Indian pilgrims on the shores of River Ganges ;-)
